Up Date: 3rd July 2007.

New topics, member contributions, and various interesting topics from astrophotography to instructions for building large tripod telescopes. Coming soon, but please note the site will be evolving over time to become a broad resource to the astronomical community.

Please take the time to click on the various pages from the menu on the left to discover more about us and our activities!

The MPAS (formerly the Astronomical Society of Frankston) was foundedin 1969 with the aim of fostering the study of Astronomy by amateurs and promoting the hobby of amateur Astronomy to the general public. The Society holds a General Meeting each month for the exchange of ideas and information. A location map will show you where. Regular observing nights, both private and public, are arranged to observe currently available celestial objects.  For decades the Society has provided Astronomy on the Move educational presentations and observing nights for schools and community groups exclusively in the Peninsula and surrounding regions to Moorabbin, Dandenong & Tooradin.
